[diesel_mercedes] Front end noise

I have not been driving my 77 240D as mush as in the past, so when I do,
I am more attuned to its idiosyncrasies. She is still a quarter tank
away from getting her first dose of winter mix diesel. Mornings are near
freezing now and probably the only reason the fuel in it is loose is
because of the remaining gasoline. When she starts, she has taken to
misfiring for the first minute or so, then smoothing out. While
stumbling, she smokes quite a bit, but that disappears.

I am still haunted by the clunk from the front end when hitting sudden
dropping bumps. The ball joints and all tie rod ends are new. The noise
comes up through the passenger floor. After pondering this for some time
now, I am beginning to suspect the radius arm end on the passenger side.

How does one check the radius arm ends?
