[diesel_mercedes] Exhaust Smoke

A very good point Derek ;

I used to get diesel smoot on the body both above and below the bumper, I'm still seeing some smoke so I'll wait a bit until I know there's no more crud in the fuel injection system then pull the injectors for pop testing and replace as necessary .

If I _still_ get smoot on the bumper then, I'll prolly replace that beloved straight exhaust tip with a down turned one .

Your "smoot" likely down to aerodynamics. Your pic shows that you have a stubby straight out sports back box, whereas most, I think, OEM systems have the tailpipe cut back to blow down towards the floor. Some car exit pipes, single or twin offset to put the outlets further out to the side of the car. Keep plenty of wax on the bumpers and back panel so the smoot wipes off easy.
I think I read that the fluted rear light lenses on the sedans were shaped that way to improve the airflow at the back end. Sounds reasonable.
