Yes, I do know, but was hoping there might be a car with the dash already pulled out. And yes, I grew up in junk yards. Thing is, running a modern yard is so different. There is terrific overhead. One nice thing is the network they have now. Most major parts are inventoried and can be procured through this network. but it all costs.? Where's "here" ? .
Our older California junkyards are going bye-bye too, like most junkyards they refuse to sell at reasonable prices and every so often simply clean out the yard at scrap price instead of making money .
When I ran a junkyard, we sold everything fast, very fast ~ it was of course old VW's, only air cooled and back when parts were in huge demand yet we didn't gouge nor sit on anything, it all was for sale cheaply to the fist person with cash .
I hope you know how difficult it is to reach that AC evaporator ! .
Believe me, I know. An am service manager for one of the largest cab companies in Wisconsin. It pays to buy recycled!
