O.K. then ;

I picked up my supplies from Pelican Parts and headed home, installed the clear plastic fuel intake filter that broke (?!)  off in my hand the other day, in the filling station on the greymarket 300TD.  I replaced the two wrong worm typ hose clamps with the correct band typ and a bit of new hose, it turns out you need # 12 or #13 clamps, #14's will fit but I found it fairly easy to twist the hose on the end of the filter so not good enough for me .

I put a spare clear plastic and one paper medium filters in the glove box in case of future need .

I need to search my regular supplier (ahem) for some more # 12 & 13 band clamps as I always seem to drop and lose one when doing this .

Then I replaced the broken rubber air cleaner mount on my '84 300CD, the air filter element was very dirty so I replaced it too, the mileage shows 15,392 since I changed it last, lots of dead bees and tiny leaf bits in it along with the normal dust accumulation .

One of our Foster boys Demarkis helped out by handing me tools, holding the flashlight and listening to what I was doing and why ~ he wants to learn, always a good thing .

Fired them both up and checked for leaks / problems, all looks good so back in the garage they go .

Another day down, I'm tired and ready for my old man afternoon nap .
