Mark – on a 220D without the relay, it has the salt shaker on the dash,
the output voltage is 12V, measured at the first GP,
I've also read that it should be 9V – what is your take? I want
to do the fast glow plug set up, and obviously have the correct voltage .
thanks,
warren -

Your car takes the fat ones. When I put the Diesel Giant parallel-wired upgrade kit in my '77 300D, it went from one difficult starting sonuva..... to the easiest starting diesel I've ever owned. Would out-start some of the gassers I have at 0 degrees F. I attributed this to the fact it used the big plugs, which may have provided a larger heating surface in the pre-chamber...? I dunno....

Hey,
Just reporting in on the 77 240D. She's been running fairly well. I only
had one or two incidences of no power in the last week. I think it will
likely go away entirely the more it runs.
My next job is to go to a fast glow plug setup. I am a little confused.
Should my car fit the 12mm or the fatter 18mm plugs?
Thanks again for your help,
