Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Alloy Wheels
My '82 240D originally came with light alloy disc wheels but some where along the line they were swapped out for steel wheels that look the same but are very much not the same .
Back a few years ago there were scads of W123's in all Wrecking Yards and I routinely saw nice clean Alloy wheels, they have stripes painted on the hubs to indicate, I could/shoulda/didn't buy them and now they're getting harder to find .
So I found a set and will go off to - morrow to buy them , buy two new tires and have mounted then have the whole car aligned for $90 (a good deal this) at an old timey BEAR alignment shop .
Whew ! this car is killing my budget/wallet, good thing I like it so much . - Nate
