[diesel_mercedes] AC Need And Service

When I was young , no one I knew had AC , not in cars nor the home .

A I was always skinny I didn't really miss it even after I moved to California because as they always say " it's a DRY HEAT " .

As I got older & fatter (240#) I began to like it and now I prefer it .

Anyway Max , most of the time there's a tiny slow leak somewhere , if you clean everything it's show up near a joint by attracting dirt and dust , most often as the compressor as it wears normally , other wise usually  at joints , there are special O-Rings in every joint and they degrade with time more than anything else .

If you're just shooting a can of Freon onto it , remember to add one can with oil in it .

Using a pressure gauge is wise too as it's very easy to inject too much Freon and this reduces the system's ability to cool .

R143a should never be allowed to have more than 240 # pressure as higher pressure reduces the cool .

Ps, I have to say I would not be doing this if I had to go to a ac shop and I have already invested enough money in the 240's ac system. Pretty much replaced everything I could find so now its down to re-charges every year or so and I figure its only the cost of the juice at this point. Max
