Reminder: Yahoo has been a hot mess for the past few years. After a lot of board meetings and rumors, the company said it would be open to getting rid of its news and media properties.
Cue a bidding war between major media companies. Verizon is apparently willing to spend the most, and could submit a bid as early as next week. But the Yahoo yard sale apparently caused the Daily Mail’s gossiping ears to perk up too. The Mail has been losing revenue from its print newspaper, so Yahoo could give it an ad revenue boost.
