Re: [diesel_mercedes] Crud In I.P.

Sooo,

Diesel Purge doesn't clean them out?

I bet a tank of vegetable oil would....

You're right on my wavelength here .

The circular piece of the elements is very snug fitting , I bought a small telescopic magnet to try and help fish them  out the next time I'm in where .

The last time I took # 1 injector pipe off , I used starting fluid to try and blow the crud out , I know there's more underneath the piece I can yet get out .

Right now I still have the Wagon's doors apart and am also working on Tom's old 1979 Dodge D-200 crew cab truck...

No rest for the weary , right ? =8-) .

Yup, your mention of the IP crud made me think a piece may have made it to the mated surfaces in the tip. Then I'm thinking, how to flush the crud from the IP? Did you get to "feel" a piece of the crud? Hard or soft? My guess is the car sat and settled "fine particles" from older diesel fuel. Now it's flaking loose. I have not done this, but I wonder if the delivery valves on the IP were pulled, could a solvent be manually pumped through to flush it?
