Brake cleaner works pretty good, and it might be similar to what the dry cleaners use.
I've used it to clean off grease and tree sap from clothes.

A while ago I found a like new rear seat cushion in a North Hollywood Pick-A-Part Junk Yard and bought it .

Some damnfool used it as a creeper on the next car in the rows and liberally smeared his greasy filthy hands all over it .

I have been unable to get a few of the ancient grease stains off it , I have use my regular Meguiar's # 40 , Aerosol Upholstery Cleaner , Simple Green , even some ETHER (starting fluid) on a rag , nothing doing ~ it won't budge .

At this point most of the seat looks like new , the padding is better than the padding in the 240D's rear seat now so I really want to use it .

Maybe some _Gasoline_ on a rag ? .

I'm stumped .

As long as I had the Meguiar's out I set up and cleaned the door card and arm rest I removed from my '84 300TD , those now look AS-NEW again , thanx to a soft bristle brush and some patience .
