Re: [diesel_mercedes] 1965 MB 190 RUST!!!

Mill Supply makes replacement panels but I don't think they cover that car.  Google replacement metal for that car, someone may be making parts.  What I usually end up doing is making a sketch of the piece I need and visit a local sheet metal shop to have them make it.  I used to live close to a capable fab shop, but they went out of business.  I'm down to a shop that makes air conditioning ducts etc.  They are limited in metal thicknesses, but they have the shears and brakes.

I knew my first project car had rust....but this is bad. I pulled the flooring out and there were some holes about the size of 1/2 of a dollar bill. The rocker panel on the drivers front is bad and leading into the wheel well is gone. There is the chrome trim towards the bottom below that is just gone towards the front of the drivers side....and then behind that and behind the wheel well looks like frame parts and it is falling apart right there. Wish I had a pic. Maybe I can get that soon. I don't know the name of the part to even begin to look for a replacement. but its the square-ish part that is parallel to the rocker and when you see past the wheel well since it is gone, you can see down the square-ish part I am talking about. What can I do in this situation?
