Interesting Max ;
Another guy is traveling in his 240D manual right now and he told me his is fine @ 75 MPH .
When I travel in out 240D automatic , I keep it at 60 MPH as the engine really doesn't like being over speeded .
I get 30 + MPG fully loaded AC always on maximum .
Ooops ~ gotta run , BREAKFAST TIME ! . =8-) .

Just got back from a 900 mile road trip. Bummer I only had 2 days, quick trip. My 240 4spd. ran well. AC worked fine the whole trip. This car is super low geared, no tach. I ran it very hard, drove as fast as I could. First day driving tru central Washington and then tru the Coulmbia River Gorge there was a blistering headwind, some times it almost blew the car off the road. I only got 26mpg, which giving the conditions I guess that was good.My speedometer reads 5mph over what I am actually going(proper sized tires) but the odo works perfect, I checked it several times with mile markers.?????????????? My girlfriend is perfect, says nothing, just sits on the dash and jiggles her butt and boobs while I drive. I need to change coolant next. Is there any drain plugs to help get everything out. Is there a procedure? It started everyttime with the new crappy Shucks starter. I checked with Napa and they claim to have a brand new starter for $116 and they even give a lifetime. When this one fails that will be my next. 240's are too low geared for long trips on freeways. Both my cars have enough power to go fast but especially the 4spd is just to low geared. Great for where I live, in mountains, with the nearest freeway 100 miles away, but trying to cruise at 70, too fast, hard to go slower when you want to get someplace. I bet my next tank of fuel with driving slow will be in the 30's. It will take a couple of weeks to run it tru. Max
