Will do ! .
I pulled the carpet and hung it on the 'C' pillar of my Coupe @ work , it poured out filthy water and made a large puddle on the floor , when I got home I hung said carpet from the clothesline , it's sunny & warm to day so I hope it'll be dry when I get home to - night .
The drain thing was originally foam (?! GRRR) so once it dies it's gone for good .
I discovered a short rubber tube thing that's stepped , one end is larger than t'other , it needs trimming on the lower end before you carefully work it into place where you can barely see much less get your hands...
Stay tuned .

Nate,
Keep us posted on the leaky drain, as I had a soaked driver's side
carpet in the summer from the A/C.
Yes, a long trip 6-7 hours. I haven't dealt with this before.
Luckily, I haven't noticed the drain leak when it rains, only a drip
from the driver's side top corner of the windshield.

I really need to address the faulty HVAC box drain rubber in my Coupe ~ it's been bad a while now but the recent soaking rains we've had , once again soaked my passenger side foot well and carpet .
I looked it up on a different site and got the aftermarket rubber hose thing (two size, stepped, Tom found it for me) but it appears I have to remove the seats , center console , central dash panel and so on just to reach it .
All that plus my carpets are filthy now anyways and the center vent flapper vacuum element is bad so I know it'll be apart a while whilst I scrub it all and chase all those niggly little ' Might As Wells ' at the same time .
Prolly this Summer about the time it reaches 95° F .
