cars can track well and still be out of alignment causing lower fuel mileage and  excessive tire wear. Tow out or excessive tow in causes tires to drag slightly going down the road.

Got my tires re balanced. Took the car to an old school alignment shop.  Installed some new suspension parts. Good so far but running 195's I always notice some unusual wear.  But the car tracks well and rides well.  Lawrence Rhodes 1980 300TD
