To stop floorboard rust, you cut out the floorboard back to solid metal. Then weld in a new piece of similar gauged metal.
If the frame only has surface rust it can be cleaned and rust-proofed.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Floor Boards, Frame, and Rust on 71 220D
There are now holes in every floor and rust underneath. The floors are starting to drop. I didn't realize the problem was this extensive.
Will rustbullet or something like that stop rust on the frame?
Are there any self-adhesive floor boards out there?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
