I have an old 1960 Chevrolet C/10 step side , short bed pickup truck ,the base model with I6 (250C.I.D.) engine and TH350 slushbox tranny , PS & PB , nothing else .
Your basic anvil upon wheels .
I am upgrading it to the long stroke 292 C.I.D. engine and TH350C slushbox with the lockup torque converter so it'll better cruise the freeway at speed .
I looked at some Unimogs , one in particular was an ex Military radio truck with the insulated box bed but , they're just too big and heavy for my needs ~ (thir$ty too !) I need a light duty open bed pickup I can cheaply run and occasionally haul my Moto in , drive improbably fast in the mountains , fix with a rock and wobbly pliers in the Mojave Desert etc. .
