Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Stolen

Tom,
You could have fingerprinted it yourself; the information you get won't admissible, but in later crimes, it would suggest the perpetrator. Quite frequently, homicides occur during burglaries when the homeowner unexpectedly confronts the burglar. Then, the cops would want to know who stole your car after the B+E.    ;-).      Deer cams have become an effective deterrent here as well.

You're sure right about the club not working very well. My wife's van was stolen in May, so I bought a club for the steering wheel. 3 weeks later it got stolen again! That time it got a little messed up. The spare keys had been stolen during a house burglary. Damned neighborhood kids!!! They brought it back both times and the police wouldn't fingerprint either time.

Seriously I use a reversed Club.  Everyone knows the Club is useless to prevent theft however they can be effective if you reverse it so the key cylinder is facing the dash.  They can't use a dent puller to pull the cylinder out.  It takes about 10 minutes to hack saw through.  So they will in general leave you alone as it's not worth their trouble.  Lawrence Rhodes.....
