Re: [diesel_mercedes] New To This Forum

Carl, all I can say is that I have 2 1983 w123 300'ds used as daily drivers, and I am as happy as a bug in a rug. Maintenance by owner is a happy chore I enjoy doing, unless it is 100F which it will be today.

HELLO--I'm the proud owner of a 2003 W208 CLK320 cabriolet in triple black. I really enjoy it and even with a little over 100K miles it is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic shape.

Years ago, a longtime colleague had an early W123 280CE, pale yellow with a tan interior. I was enamored by the car the minute I saw it. After seeing it in the parking lot every morning, I finally told her that if she ever thought about selling it, I'd appreciate her contacting me first. Several years later she did indeed call me, but I was in no financial position at that time to buy it. I regretted having to do so then and in the years since.

Flash forward to today. I'm a fairly experience MBz owner. I know enough to put a few dollars away for every 100 miles I drive in order to provide the maintenance level the car needs. ...and I am still enamored by W123 coupes, except I've learned that a 300CD would be a better idea (Mercedes run forever, but nothing runs as long as a Mercedes diesel).

I hope this forum will serve as an additional resource in my search for a late W123 300CD for me to lavish some attention on.

Best Wishes--Carl
