Jacks and prybars usually will get the OEM styles to fit.  Hose clamps make a good emergency repair.

I make my own using 1/4" fuel hose and coat hanger wire. Cut a length of hose that will make the size loop you want. Run the coat hanger wire through it twice, pull it tight, fold the wire ends over each other and cut them to leave a couple inches extra. Shove those ends into the inside of the hose. Strong and won't rattle. I have also simply used bare coat hanger wire and that has never rattled, just looped it around maybe four times. I think the hose might make it last a bit longer. The problem I have had with ready-made doughnuts are that sometimes they don't fit, depending on any muffler work that has been done. Using homemade ones, you can custom-adjust the way the muffler hangs.
