THE HARD STARTING DIESEL IS A 300SD 1984. AND THE GLOW PLUGS APPEAR TO BE WIRED IN A STOCK FASHION.

Cold weather also does play havoc with starting. I'll be changing mine out shortly - I keep a set of spares on hand. This time I'll ream out the pre-chamber as I think one or two of the glow plugs are getting contact with some carbon build up. Maybe not, but I would like to solve the problem of why Martha starts instantly and never has any glow plug issues, while Mary takes 15 - 20 seconds
