Is it a cell on the end, or a middle cell?
Maybe if is an end one, the is something bumping that cell, like the tray being loose and the inner fender is pushing in in the battery end. It could hit harmonics and turn the end cell into a makeshift vaporizer
Possibly noise could rattle the end cell wall. Any exhaust leaks or such
No holes or other damage to the battery. You can see where the fluid has come up and out of the purge hole.

Is there a screw or sharp edge on the firewall that cut into that cell?
Check the battery for holes, tray for sharp edges/ protruberances
