LOL! I am tough. I'm Irish with some English and like most of us mutt. My great grandfather 9x back was Lord Baltimore, who founded Baltimore, MD. I still have relatives in Ireland.
If you were from here and heard me talk you'd know right off I'm not from Texas! I get THAT a lot..."You're not from here are you?" DUH. No I'm not. I seem to have an "attitude" but my mom said I was born with it. :) I do not like catfish, tastes like dirt to me. I grew up on Rainbow Trout and ocean fish. I don't wear tight jeans or boots, my hair isn't piled high, no hair spray, I rarely wear makeup or as Kevin calls it "War paint". Frankly I'm just too lazy to wear it and if I do I forget and wind up rubbing my eyes.
I was only supposed to be here for 3 months, (that was nearly 20 years ago!) but at the time my landlord would only give me a 6 month lease on a condo. I stayed there for 9yrs since he also said he'd never raise my $300 a month rent! I moved here when we had "white flight" in Burbank due to the whole Rodney King BS and daddy Bush was in office, no work to be found in LA. I went from working at the studios in Hollywood to working for one of the largest General Contractors in the state, but even we had to shut down a job on Sunset 3x. We tore down the old Schwabs to put up this horendous building on the corner across from the Marmont where John Belushi died. The two owners were in a bitter custody battle over buying each other out, they fell behind by 3million each time.
I thought about parting out my car, but decided anything is better than nothing for it and frankly this place already looks like Sanford & Son.
With 25 acres it just gives us more room for more crap. I used to have a circle drive with room for two vehicles to park, but each time Kevin pulled in with a load on the truck the easiest place to unload was next to the truck.
There are other piles of stuff (mostly ceramic tiles) over by the shed and all sorts of junk that needs to go to the dump "hidden" behind the dog pens. The barn is full of I don't know what. It had 3 non running motorcycles in it till I sold them. The shed attached to the shed is full of who knows what, old carpet for some odd reason, I think he was going to recover the cat tree with it as there is no way we'll ever have carpet on our floors again. I know at least one electric clothes dryer that doesn't heat is in that shed. Next to the big shed are two more electric dryers or parts there of. Leaning against the shed are doors or door frames, stacks of windows and ceramic tile are piled up over there too. We keep saying "we need to get a dumpster in here" yeah, we do! We've sold off tons of stuff or given it away to charity. One day as I was on the phone with my sister I saw Kevin turning in, I said "Oh yay Kevn's home. Oh crap, he's got a red flag tied to the back of the truck again!" She just laughed asking "What's he dragging home today?" A lot of the stuff they would throw away at camp he brings home. Selling it has given us thousands in extra cash...really. Copper pipe, old A/C units out of the 40 hotel rooms, sold or torn down to sell as scrap. The windows from the the hotel rooms and some of the buildings, sold. Some have broken glass so we'll finish breaking them and scrap out the aluminum frames. The washer/dryers, sold for at least $100 each.
Oops .
Sorry Trish .
Anyways , if $ is a major concern , might I suggest keeping the current one for parts as needed on the next one ? .
