Are you completely unaware that our wonderful Mercedes diesel engines, that run on so many different fuels and last so long, are both designed and built by UNION workers, who have better health care, longer vacations, and guaranteed retirement plans than any U.S. workers, even those with the most protective unions?
Even with all those evil unionized designers and plant workers, as you say, Mercedes makes an engine you can afford, and no union busting U.S. plant, that has to guarantee fat paychecks and perks for management, can build such engines in a way that we in the middle class can afford them.

Best of all, they are not union!!! Only, after I have exhausted all options in the USA, will I go to another country for new purchases. Now, you might say, why then a Mercedes? I don't know of an American made engine, that I can afford, that is like like my Mercedes.
