Not quite a decade ago, I was quoted ~$900 for a set of 5 new pistons.  Fortunately, I didn't need them.  I did have a long conversation with a shop in Belmont, CA, (up on the SF peninsula), about re-sleeving the engine, they'd done several.  Said that you can usually re-use the stock pistons, which I regarded with a bit of suspicion..
