Yes it did work. It had a bounce to it every now and then. Now that it broke and we pulled it out we see why. It was twisted and frayed.

Has the speedo worked since you changed it over? If not, the rear of the tranny maybe set for an electronic speedo, and not a cable. The tranny tail might be swapable. I did that for my 300D, with the oddball CA' 85 tranny.
