Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re : Country Rust Repairs

I have given up on encapsulation. All paints and encapsulations crack or get chips. The water creeps under the paint and rusts

Use a soft coating that will reseal

I use Fluid Film

Hey Nate,

That's exactly what I've been told to do and plan to ASAP.  Someone even mentioned that I might be able to find a color match.  I don't care about that, it's not in an area easily seen.

It's *VERY* important to stop that rust ASAP because it _NEVER_ sleeps
and will eat up your beloved 'Benz whilst you're snoozing...

Basic fix ? simple : get a big short handled wire brush , some filthy clothes and a pint can of Rustoleum paint & a 2" brush ~ wire brush the rusty bits & paint them , the Rustoleum paint is fish oil based and encapsulates the rust so it stops . (Eastwoods crap is well , crap) .
