Kevin agreed that the exhaust must come up. Dan's open tomorrow, the driveway should be dry enough for me to get out. Saturday we had to go to the store..no, Kevin was going to die if he didn't get a diet coke (No clue why he didn't buy it when he was at the store on Friday night!)..anyhow, we had to fight the mud to get out, then to be safe we parked in the last solid area before the house and walked up. I watched him leave today, no way can I go anywhere.
Once it stopped raining we got bored and went out to tinker with the car. He wants to swap the seat bottoms from the passenger side to the drivers so I have a decent seat. When he took out the passenger seat we lifted the carpet. Oh boy, I sure wish I had done that back in September. The floor had water and I do believe the floor is rotted through. I thought, what they need is the stuff they use in spray in truck bed liners. Kevin's F150 had it and it never scratched, in more than a decade we put that truck through it's paces and several motors. Sure wish he still had it.
I really am trying to love this car. I have to say, this isn't the first car mistake I've made. I recall an orange Dodge van back in the late '70's in Sedona, AZ that ate spark plugs. My mechanic even told me to dump it, he got tired of fixing it. Hmmm I just had a flash..that was an orange van, this is an orange car. Nah, I've had other crap mobiles. I had a '78 Camero that I didn't choose, but paid for, in so many ways, that needed a motor and carb overhaul within 2 weeks.
I way over paid for the car, so I'll never get my money out of it. Is there anything at all I can do to save the floor board?
I also know where the rot is coming from on the drivers door. The seals are shot, so the rain/water runs right down and lays on the ledge and the bottom of the door is against it.
