Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Old pickup trucks

My mind was running along those lines, I have a nearly worn-out '89 Dodge that contains a nicely broken in 12 valve B6, but I want to spend some time with the 304 V8 before I decide to replace it, it has a pretty good reputation as a "forever" engine.  The 304 is said to weigh 700 lbs, the B6 about 1000 lbs,, couple more leaves in the front stack would handle that without issue, but if the 'binder motor is in good shape, I'll likely keep it a while..

GEE, this brings back some wonderful memories, an a comment from this old gear head too, The perfect combo, this old IH Heavy duty PU truck with a 6BT Cummins Diesel  installed, one would have a good truck for the rest of your life.  Especially if its rust free.   My two Cents, Doug Traylor
PS a good rust free TravelAll would do for me.
