Re: [diesel_mercedes] Air Filter Brand Recommendation?

Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I get Manns (or something comparable). But, I don't drive in dust storms, or bug blizzards. And, I change mine every year (or give it a serious cleaning). And, I don't have an oil bath in my cannister. I pay $15 +/- and sometimes I get something else from Autozone which is 1 mile away. Sometimes I look at removing the cannister and EGR stuff from the engine too, but have not built up the energy or nerve to do that. Nate from TN can give you more on that. Maybe before I get senile I'll do it - there are some you tube videos which look pretty simple.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Air Filter Brand Recommendation?

Well it's been cold and there's snow on the ground...so I'm looking for "indoor" activities to keep me going (I don't have a garage...whimper) like looking through forums and the archives here.

I'll be needing an air filter element quite soon...and noticed a variety of brands (and prices) available at my local McPartsZones. Nate's made it quite clear that Fram is trash (bless you, Nate)...so what brands are worth their $?

For my 1983 300SD....

Multiple recommendations are great, then I can price hunt...but if there's only one filter to rule them all, let me know it!
