My apologies, Jim.  On the later system, the servo is more correctly called a "monovalve", so use that term in the search.  Here's a posting that may sound familiar:

I'm not sure just where it is on the later cars.  The servo used in the old Klima I system was located on in the right (passenger) front of the engine compartment, mounted on the fender outside of the A/C compressor.  I think the later system had it mounted on the firewall.  Here's an article for the W126:

If your door locks are working all right, then your vacuum system is not causing your climate control problems, though you may have a problem with the shut-off diaphragm on the injector pump, or a leak at the key switch.

Door locks seem fine. What part is the servo and where is it located? I searched for it but can't find it in the archives.
