Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Glow plugs

Cheap is good, but longevity is what I'm about.

My big Suzuki is down for some bearings in the rear suspension, makes glow plug testing quick and easy, I grab the plug in vice grips and touch the plug connection to the Suzuki battery positive terminal, the back of the vice grips to the negative... When working in full daylight, I'll dip the nose of the plug in diesel and test, smoke happens before glow..

here's a cheap ebay set for only $6 each for unknown brand, but they look just like bosch

i think i may be using some in my 82 300td

autohaus.az is getting about $10 each for bosch (free ship $50 order, so throw in an oil filter

i probably go through 2 or 3 per year, running and starting on WVO which is a harder life than the diesel fuel life but i pill them and test them every october or so

i'll pay $1.50 each delivered for anyone's pulls that still heat up

i run them until they don't glow and test them with a piece of fairly heavy wire across the battery ..... CAREFULLY, HOT DON'T TOUCH
