It's a nifty little hydraulic valve connected to the rear suspension and the hydraulic hoses operating the hydropneumatic Self Leveling System most all W-123 station wagons are equipped with .
It lives way up underneath the rear kickup where black widow spiders & mud dauber wasps like to live......
Not a fin thing to access even when working on clean cement .
They're rebuildable @ home *if* it's not so corroded it breaks as you take it apart .
