FWIW ;
It's been in the low 30° F's of late so I was interested in my cold start drill , I leave the glow plugs on after the lamp goes out , about 25 seconds total glow time (lamp goes out in 15 seconds) and it lights off in 1/2 revolution of the engine with 1/3 throttle .
I do need to keep it idling by applying *slight* pressure to the foot feed .
If you're in cold weather country , try timing your glow plugs ~ they heat until the relay makes a loud 'CLICK' so practicing to not use the starter until *just* before the relay clicks off , will ensure rapid cold starting well below freezing .
Remember to _not_ let off the starter until it's running on all cylinders ! .
