The "whatzitdo" pix from bartonfiske reminded me to clean the ALDA which I had forgotten all about...

My ALDA banjo bolt was completely stopped up all the way through and the hose was black with soot. Cleaned the bolt out with a wire and some gum cutter spray aka carb cleaner. Disconnected the hose at the other end and sprayed that out as well, didn't seem to be uber-clogged, it dripped black but there was no problem getting throughput. Took about an hour since I spent 30 minutes looking for the hose clamp that flew across the garage (didn't find it...have to get another one tomorrow). Haven't driven it yet. The banjo bolt was surprisingly loose and absolutely 100% clogged. Car only has about 120k miles on it. Maybe there is too much oil going through the turbo. Anyone know?
Mine is an 84 300D so slightly different from these pix but basically the same job:
