Hi Max et al,
I just returned from a trip to Central California (Sierras/ Groveland,
CA). While the return trip was uneventful, the trip up was very wet, and
much car carnage was seen for the whole 400 mile trip north. Most of the
wrecked vehicles were pickup trucks and SUVs, which always seem to drive
too fast with wide tires and no weight in the back. My 300D drove quite
well, except for the moisture in the car which made switching back and
forth between heat and defrost, mandatory for the trip.
Tues night last week, right before the trip, our 'land line' phone went
out and somehow was calling 911, so the police were here at 2am pounding
on the door. At the same time, it was raining so hard the street was
flooded and water was back flowing into my garage. Usually, I just have
garage roof leaks with buckets underneath. It it lasted longer it could
have been bad.
Some friends of ours, who live up in the canyon, lost at least one car
down the creek, and were hoping the bridge wouldn't be washed out.
Raining again today. I'll check my buckets. :)

Shasta, rain so hard in Oregon when we passed a truck you could not see anything, even tho everyone still drove at least 70mph. I will never do that again. I somehow lost Henry's case of HC-12a in the middle of Oregon, still trying to figure that one out. I went to the Evergreen airplane museum in Mc Minville Oregon and saw the Spruce Goose and about a 1000 other vintage airplanes. Wow, that was amazing. Worth the $20 to get in. Happy to be home and happy to still be alive. Hey how did you Orange County boys make out? I see you have been in the news a lot lately. I saw some of my old favoriet places got wiped out by rain and mud. Max(next time I'm driving the 240)
