[Diesel-RVs] Re: SpeeCo

Just a word of caution! I used SpeedCo only once. They striped out
my drain plug when reinstalling. I didn't find problem until latter
when I found oil leaking while in storage. Cummins M-11 have a
aluminum oil pan and a steel plug so the pan losses every time.
While the SpeedCo service manager seemed knowledgeable, the rest of
the crew appeared to be just hired off the street. The first guy
went to drain the engine and didn't realize it was in the rear of the
coach! I should have taken that as a sign! Anyways, Cummins doesn't
sell a repair kit and the pan was over $400 + installation. I ended
up having a Houston diesel repair shop install a oversized FEMCO
Compact quick change drain plug for little over $200. I would watch
SpeedCo or any quick oil change place very closely. I always go
back to Factory or Cummins now.
