Here's hoping everyone has a funner 2018 than I had 2017
.
Tom came to Pasadena for the Vintage British Moto Ride this morning and got there before me,. I had to take a circuitous route and fill my tank, change a clogged fuel filter etc........
After everyone _else_ rode away to have fun (sob) we went up to my house where Tom tried to work on his computer and I raked up 100 gallons of leaves and dirt, getting a good workout and relieving some stress via exercise .
We're forecasted rain for Thursday and my back yard is partially cemented and has a drain leading 'round the house into the street out front, it was completely filled with dry leaves as were all the concrete walkways, if I fail to clean them before a rain I have a muddy pool at my back door step so this needed doing .
Then I did a routine hot oil & filter change on his Mercedes 300SDL, I used my mangled hand too, it's not getting any better so I might as well work it to keep it flexible .
After that we went to Monrovia and fed & watered Jr's dogs, brought in his mail etc/, the went to Tom's Man Cave where he dropped off a few things and puttered 'round a bit then he was all done and *very* kindly took a 50 mile (each way) detour to a remote junkyard so I could get a rear view mirror for Shirley's station wagon and a couple small items for my old Diesel Sports Coupe, thence to a nice lunch at a brandy new buffet Tom saw under construction last month . nice and clean, decent food (excellent grilled pepper shrimp on skewers) , passable service but it's NYE after all .
Back to Pasadena, Tom dropped me off and headed home, I played with my dogs a bit, watered them (I'd fed them far too much this morning so no additional food in the evening) , took a nice shower, grabbed to bottles of bubbly then headed down to the hotel where Shirley and DeMarkis were waiting .
Shirley's sound asleep in front of the T.V., DeMarkis is waiting for midnight & watching cartoons but will prolly fade away before then .
HAPPY NEW YEAR ! .

Dear Family,
It's been a long day, starting at 5:30 a.m. Running around, doing errands, taking Nate to a junk yard for a 'new' mirror for Shirley's wagon. Listening to the ongoing stress and travails of the burned house situation.
Home early, and I'm going to bed. Talk to you all next year. Have a happy and safe New Year's eve, and a better 2018 than 2017.
Love,
Tom
