Do you replace the head bolts on these, like the ones that stretch to torque?

Also, try http://www.junkyarddog.com

You might fine one close to home.  Bill in Oregon

I found one about two weeks ago with a more realistic price way out on the western fringe in Missouri. Sooner or later I will find one. I just can't see paying way more for a head than for a decent car. And I have no room for a parts car.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Factory Block Heater _Cord_

OK thank you.  My wife was bruised a little from the seat belt.  I was pulling out of a side street after the light changed.  The guy must have been going around the 50 MPH limit.
Luckily it was a glancing blow.  The other car stopped about 100' down the street.   If he had hit me broadside in the door, it would have been a different story.  A brief commercial for JC Taylor.  It was a stated value policy and they paid quickly and were very helpful with the whole transaction.  I was able to locally source an '83 replacement with 92,000 miles, so I'm still with the program.

I have the block end of the heater cable with about 2 feet of cable. You can splice in whatever you need to complete the circuit.  Thanks to an idiot who ran a red light while texting, I don't need it anymore.  See attachment.  Let me have your mailing address and I'll send it to you.
