Howdy All,
I am hoping this is our crew for the TT and no one is left out...

This may look familiar but...

We have a good crowd showing up so far for the TT.
If you are receiving this email, that means I have an app for you.  If you have not paid me yet, please make a note of that and plan accordingly.  Payment in cash on the day of is ok, if that is what needs to happen.  Please do not hand me a check when I am about to get in my crappy little car for two days...
If you know someone that thinks they are going, and they are not on this email string, you may want to suggest they get in touch with me asap.  The hotel appears to have plenty of room so late additions are welcome...

Loosely:
Meet Purgatory Pizza, Friday evening bet 7 pm and 10 pm to kick tires and chat
Meet Chango Coffee, Saturday Oct 7, 1559 N Echo Park Ave, LA 90026 for coffee, drivers meeting, 8:30 am, leaving 9:30 am
Hyundae Hotel on October 7 in Desert Hot Springs
Parking lot of Hyundae, October 8, 9:30 am, then hit the road
Purgatory Pizza for awards dinner, October 8, 7:00 pm

The awards dinner is important, so try and be there...

Friends and like minded enthusiasts are encouraged to show up Friday night and Saturday morning.

More updates as things develop...

See you on the Road, Bronze!

Just find/buy an old injector tube and cut the end off with a tubing tool then use a fine flat file to dress the angle of the end to match the picture as closely as you can .

This is what I did and it turns out it's not hard to make nor to use, I was nervous as all get out I'd muck it up and damage my engine but eventually I had to change out my old worn out injection pump and gave it a go .

I decided to try using 26° timing (Mercedes says 24°) as several people have told me this works out well, so far so good ~ the car still starts in less than one full engine revolution and no  smoke, no more oily spatter out the exhaust and all over the back of the car.....

Mercedes says if you're experiencing hard cold starting to cycle the glow plugs twice and hold the accelerator to the floor and don't let off until all cylinders are hitting .

I'm quite sure once you adjust the valves and discover a couple were at or close to zero lash, your starting troubles will vanish .

When you squeeze your eyes together real hard, it is not hard to see that the drip tube is merely looking for the point where the injector valve just starts to open, sort of like looking for the distributor position when the light just goes out when stationary timing a car with points (say, my 1968 Citroen D).
I will not be surprised to find valves out of adjustment.
As afar as smoke and power, even when it is in one of its moods, it does not smoke and it has pretty good power. I can get 'er up past 80 with little effort. I was told that that's respectable for a 4 popper.
So, that all said, does someone have an injector pipe they would like to part with?
