You can always put your load details on USHIP.com and maybe some trucker
will bid on taking it. There is a little competition there so you will
probably get a better price than trusting to a regular run.

I put two felt covers on mine and have never looked back. But, having said that, I might consider using my SUGRU on a crack (http://sugru.com/) as it has worked on many such fix it repairs.
