Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Hood hing pin clips - W123
 
Any one ever have to acquire the spring clips that hold the bottom of the hood hinge to the fenders ?

One went a month ago, no big deal at the time as I was not driving it because of the control arm issue, tonight while looking for a solution for the one that let loose, the other let go also.

So at the bottom of the hinge, there is a pin that goes through the inner fender, then a big washer that goes over it that is held on by the spring clip.

The clip and washer is not shown in the Elkers IPB and not listed with the hing hardware.

Any one happen to find a suitable substitute at Lowes, HomeDepot or somewhere else ?

Looking to fix this Thursday so I can go for an inspection sticker Friday.

An automotive spring clip might do in a pinch. They come in various spans. Lowes or any older neighborhood hardware will usually have a drawer of them in the hardware aisle.
