Many older automatic trannies have a rear drive oil pump in them so you can get the vehicle going faster than 35 MPH and shift from neutral into drive and hold the accelerator to the floor and it should start ~

Be aware that this is tricky and can be very dangerous as the sudden application of the tranny's drive can make the rear wheels skid , moreso when it's a high compression Diesel engine .

Also , the car tends to lurch forward suddenly as the engine start , this means pushing rather than towing is the way to go .

Just for fun , I tried this a few times in my first couple of Mercedes Diesels when ascending hills on the freeway and they never did start so don't expect a miracle .

Lastly , when bump starting anything , never , _EVER_ use first or reverse gear as the ratio is far too low , you'll skid the tires and loose valuable momentum before it ever starts .
