Re: [diesel_mercedes] Why Not Grease car ?

Nate,

It is true that it is possible to mess up a perfectly good diesel.  I can give you a dozen ways to mess up a conversion.

But, if you do it right, it is possible to convert a car and have a serviceable result.

I am not sure, but I believe that the Grease Car conversion may not be the best brand.  It may be possible to use some of their parts and have a good conversion.

There was a German brand that was really knowledgeable, but they closed.  Hopefully, they will be revived.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] my fuel froze this morning

All W123 and W126 Diesels with automatic trannies 1985 and earlier are equipped with a 2nd pump making it possible to start at 35MPH when shifted from neutral into drive or S.  I've never had to use this feature, but it's there for emergency situations.
