Propane has higher pressure than NG, which means smaller jet. We used to see a lot of Albertians around here using propane in their cars. Propane used to be very cheap, not anymore. Also it takes 10% more propane than gasoline to run something. Max

In NZ, every gas station sold either LP or CNG for refueling. While I was down there on a trip, a car exploded like a bomb in Wellington, killing the driver. Must have gotten the trunk filled with LP or CNG and then ignited, who knows. I think all these cars were carbureted, but don't really know. Seem to remember a conversion where they took the carb off, put an LP or CNG fuel insert on, and then piggybacked the carb onto that. Don't know what would be used for fuel injected cars.
