There is an oil rail along the left side of the engine. (The side with the oil filter.) Inside the crankcase there are 5 holes machined into this oil passage and into these holes are mounted sprayers that spray a small stream continuously onto the underside of the pistons. These are not the scoops like they have in lawnmower engines.

When you talk about the sprayer are you talking about the little scoops that they put on the end of the rod to scoop up oil and splash it up in the piston as the crank moves around,that was a great idea, not. I don't think you can count on that really helping much
