[diesel_mercedes] Rear view mirror adjuster

Both of my outside rear view mirror adjusters are broken on my W126, '83 300SD.  It looks like I should have oiled the little trip mechanism.  How do you fix them?  The last one broke when I met a truck that was going into the wind and there was no contact, just the bow wave of the truck.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Fw: V belt in pulley upside down.

Lawrence,

The hydraulic fluid may have fowled things up.  I would thoroughly clean all three pulleys with alcohol, gasoline, kerosene and whatever your favourite cleaner is before putting on your new belt.

I think CRC Belt Conditioner also helps.

I can only think the copious amounts of hydraulic soaking the belt caused this condition.  I checked the pulleys.  They are so true they looked like they were standing still.  All pulleys have no obstructions.  New v belt to be put in.
