Open door , kneel down on the ground & lift the front seat adjuster with your left hand and push the seat forwards with your right .
It is possible he used the side seat adjuster handle , this also slides the seat fore and aft but is used to adjust the overall seat height....
TIP : keep other people away from your car if you value it ! .

The seat does 2 things: a) back and forth, and b) up and down. Did he make one adjustment, or did he do two adjustments?
