I took SWMBO's '82 240D home yesterday and this morning there was frost all over it , I set the idle speed knob and cycled the glow plugs just to the light off and gave 'er a crank ~ it lit right off , didn't idle well so I two - footed it as I backed it out of the driveway and let it idle while I closed & locked the gate , then drove away slowly , you should _never_ sit idle in a car to warm it up ~ always drive it slowly away , in 60 seconds or a block or tow , it's good to go .
Christmas Carols on the radio , heater softly blowing hot air as I drove in my shirt sleeves , what a nice commute .
FM 103.5 KOST in So. Cal. for the Carols .
