[diesel_mercedes] Re: [dieselMercedes] LED Fog Lamps & 'Uro' Brand W123 HVAC Blower Motor

Well and good Bud ~

We're not supposed to go where there are others so the back yard or garage is good for exercise metal and physical...

To - day's job was my 2000 Ford Ranger pickup, I've been up dating little things bit by bit and wanted to add a passenger side assist handle, it turns out I had to take 1/2 the interior apart to do this simple thing so I took the time to really clean the sugar sand that got into ever crevice when I was in Death Valley....

I love rubber floor mats ! After vacuuming them I cleaned then with a toothbrush and Meguiar's #40, I even cleaned under the seats and so on...

Updated the rear cab lamp to a loading lamp as well as brake light, switched to LED's, wow what an improvement .

Always something to do .

FWIW, the Uro blower motor really works well ~ I keep it on the low setting and it's silent and blows quite a bit more air volume than the old one with new brushes ever did .

The headlights are noticeably brighter too ~ when you're in your 7th decade night driving isn't a fun thing like it was in my 20's ~ I can really notice the better view, still using standard # 6014 7" seal beams .

Take baby steps and do the little things, it makes the car more enjoyable and keep the interest in tinkering going .

Hi all ;

We're getting close to the end here, I hope everyone is getting ready to have a NICE & SAFE Thanksgiving .

I replaced the original BOCSH H4 fog lamp bulbs with some yellow Chinese ones, they look great in spite of the faded yellow lenses and draw less current to, a win-win in my book .

I also installed a new Uro brand HVAC motor, it has far less drag on it and draws less current, it's quieter and blows more air at lower speeds too, maybe this is better than the time consuming replacement of old worn out brushes, to do that job properly you need to take the motor all the way apart and clean all the accumulated dust out and lubricate the bronze bushings...

Some years back I tried a Uro blower and didn't like it, this one is a slightly improved design I think will be the easy and co$t effective answer most are looking for .

Winter is almost upon us ,  look at this now and don't forget to fully flush the coolant out and add new using only DISTILLED water or the proper G5 pre mix yellow coolant .

I'm "Yankee Thrifty" (cheap) so I get the undiluted stuff @ O'Reily's, they have it in the back, you have to ask for it .
