joints and drag link, which really tightened up everything.

Any other time I'd had shut off issues, it was either the door locks, or
some hose got unattached under the hood.

This time, the locks work fine, the tranny shifts as it should, and no
hose looks unattached under the hood.

What should I look at next?

Vacuum for the shutoff valve on the back of the injector pump is supplied from a valve mounted on the ignition switch. Perhaps you could start at the shutoff valve, trace that tube to the back of the switch. Vacuum source is the second tube found there. It could be that the valve has simply failed. Turn the key off, pull the hose off the shutoff valve, put your thumb over it. You should feel vacuum.
